Xiaomi Redmi 5A Now Back to Original Price of Rs 5999
Xiaomi has announced that Xiaomi Redmi 5A will be now available at the original price of Rs 5999 in India. Redmi 5A was launched last year in November at a competitive price of Rs 4999. At the launch of the phone, the company said that the complimentary price is only applicable for first five million units, after that it will be available for Rs 5999.
Earlier this year the company said that it sold more than 1 million pieces of Redmi 5A mobile phones in less than a month of sale. The price of the phone is applicable on Flipkart as well as Mi.com. There is no word whether the company has achieved the 5 million sales goal or not.
This comes ahead of the launch of the new Xiaomi Redmi 5 on Wednesday. Xiaomi recently has stopped selling the base model of Redmi 4 to make way for the Redmi 5 that is expected to launch at the same starting price.
In terms of specification, Redmi 5A is a dual SIM smartphone that comes with MIUI 9 on top of Android Nougat out-of-the-box. The phone sports a 5-inch (720×1280 pixels) display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, coupled with 2GB/ 3GB of RAM and 16GB/ 32GB of inbuilt storage.
The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash, and PDAF. On the front is a 5-megapixel front sensor with f/2.0 aperture. There is a 3000mAh battery under the hood. Connectivity options on the handset include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a micro-USB port.
