Instagram to Alert You When Someone Takes Screenshot of Your Stories
Instagram has now started a new feature that informs people when someone takes a screenshot or screen recording of their Stories. In fact, it will also alert individuals if they try to save someone stories that person will be informed of the same. The security feature will significantly put a star-shaped icon will appear next to the name of the person who has taken a screenshot of Stories. This icon will appear in the Story Views section.
“Next time you take a screenshot or screen recording, the person who posted the story will be able to see it,” reads the Instagram warning. Which means you will be spared the star icon the first time you attempt to record or take a screenshot of your friend’s Story post. But, the security feature can be worked around by taking a screenshot in flight mode.
According to a report Instagram is working on this feature and is still in progress, but it could be rolled out soon. Facebook-owned Instagram makes this move to enhance its privacy. It introduced a similar feature in November 2016 that alerts a person when someone takes a screenshot of his/her Direct Messages (DM).
Along with this, Instagram is also testing a new ‘Regram’ feature. It will let people share public feed posts from other users to their Story. Instagram confirmed the test in a statement to the website and said, “We are always testing ways to make it easier to share any moment with friends on Instagram.” It looks like the feature is at present available to a small number of individuals with a wider rollout expected soon.
