Honor 7X Expected to Launch by December in India
Huawei’s sub brand Honor is all set to introduce a new smartphone Honor 7X in India. Honor’s Global President George Zhao announced that the company will launch the Honor 7X by December in India. He also claimed that the mobile phone will be an offline exclusive in the country.
He said – “We will launch Honor 7X in December at such a price that it will have no competitor in that segment”. He also talked about the company’s need to step up its marketing efforts in India – “We have the capability to out compete other dominating players in the Indian smartphone market in terms of quality, but our marketing efforts need to improve”.
Honor presently just spends 3 per cent of its revenue on marketing. Zhao also talked about Honor’s plans to introduce future forward technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) to its phones and the need to strengthen offline channels in a country like India. He also mentioned that exclusive Honor demo shops – much like ones recently introduced by Motorola and Xiaomi – will be launched in India very soon.
The Honor 7X has already gone on sale in China in three variants- 32GB, 64GB and 128GB of internal storage for CNY 1,299 (approximately Rs 12,900), 1,699 (approximately Rs 16,800) and 1,999 (approximately Rs 19,800) respectively. All three variants support storage expansion via a microSD card (of up to 256GB). The mobile phone will be available via offline retailers as well.
