Google Assistant Starts Rolling Out to Android Tablets and Android 5.0 Lollipop Phones
Google Assistant, the search giant’s voice assistant, is now rolling out for phones running Android 5.0 Lollipop and tablets running Android 7.0 Nougat and 6.0 Marshmallow. Previously it was available for smartphones running Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Google Assistant for tablets running Android Nougat and Marshmallow will be available in coming week to users with the language set to English in the US only. Assistant for mobile phones running Android Lollipop whose language is set to English in the United States, UK, India, Australia, Canada, and Singapore, as well as in Spanish in the US, Mexico and Spain and also rolling out to users in Italy, Japan, Germany, Brazil and Korea.
Google is very active in upgrading and enhancing new skills and features to Assistant at regular intervals, and the company earlier this year pushed the support for Assistant to phones running Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above. Google Assistant can assist you connect with local services, play songs, set alarms, recognize songs, answers your every request, etc. You can even control your smart devices like plugs and lights, ask about the weather and much more.
